- THE TALKING CHECKBOOK ADVENTURE GAME!
-
- Well, it was great fun writing the adventure game, but now
- we have a problem that has come up that you'll need to fix
- yourself. It's no big deal, but your disk space will continue to
- decrease if you don't use the DOS "CHKDSK/F" command after
- running the checkbook and adventure game.
-
- The problem is that the adventure game erases a set of files
- that you don't need to use with the checkbook, but for some
- reason, these files are not totally erased from the disk. They
- take up space as lost chains and you can get rid of them by using
- the following command sequence:
-
- At the DOS prompt while on the drive in which you use the
- checkbook, type "CHKDSK/F" and when asked if you want to convert
- the lost chains to files, answer "N" for no. The "CHKDSK/F"
- command will then free up all that space for you.
-
- We are working to try and find a good library function that
- will do this automatically but our efforts have not been fruitful
- to date. At some point, we are confident that we will get our
- hands on some code that will take care of this situation.
